The market is useful because it concentrates cheap, fast food in one place, with enough choice to keep a group happy. It is better for lunch than for a long dinner.

We all know what open markets can be like. And yes, this one is essentially the same as many others. The difference is the people and the products. The people are lovely. Yes, you’re gonna get the typical, “give me a Mexican minute” or “ my turn”. I still find it charming. They are a kind people and happy to help you find something that will help make a memory of your stay. It can be alot if you’re not used to it? Yes. But this is how these people make their living. And if I’m going to a country, and can help by supporting local businesses, I’m gonna do it! Don’t skip out on the leather goods.
Just went here with my boyfriend as it’s our first time in Mexico and cancun. Saw this online recommended outside of the hotel zone. We loved the variety of items for sale but noticed it’s all the same amount stalls. Be aware the stall owners will try get to buy whatever they can. Be prepared to haggle them with the price, It was a lot for us as it’s our first time here. Other than that I loved the items that were for sales and did a couple of delicious tequila tastings from shop owners.
This place is extremely overpriced, and even locals do not shop here. We liked a ceramic decor item that was initially quoted at 3,500 pesos, which the vendor later dropped to 800 pesos. Even then, we didn’t buy it. We have traveled to many countries, and the same item should cost no more than 300 pesos. This is a complete tourist trap. The market is a rip-off and does not feel safe, as many other reviewers have also mentioned. Avoid the jewelry shop at the entrance, as the vendor there is extremely pushy. There is almost nothing worth buying here. Most items can be found on Chinese websites, and many of them appear to be imported from there. It does not feel safe for solo travelers, especially women, as noted by other reviewers. Even something as simple as coconut water costs 150 pesos here, when it should be around 40–50 pesos at most. Before visiting, I strongly recommend reading the negative reviews.
Visitors beware! This is a souvenir shopping place. Has around 400 small shops of souvenirs & food. Mostly they are very friendly, but very pushy so u buy with them. Compare prices and negotiate. They normally start with high prices. But will negotiate with you. Please BEWARE! WE went in a jewelry shop and the person in charge gave us a price. It was crazy pricy, we said no thank you, as we were walking out he became very pushy and rude and said if you are a American you have money. You can buy it. All Americans that come here they buy my stuff. 😡😤 it was definitely scary the way he was acting and he got in front of the doorway so we couldn't get out. He insisted we had to purchase from him. Just be aware. Other than that , it was a good experience.
Great little flea market with plenty of options and tourists. It was only a short 20 minute bus ride from our resort. It also had a small food court for local eats with some great options.
