I have visited other branches of BAO and always enjoyed the food and service. This was my first time visiting the Soho branch and I had a good experience. I ordered the Classic Braised Pork Bao and Prawn Shia Song Bao and they were both delicious. Not only were the fillings tasty, but the buns themselves were cooked very well. The young lady who served me was very helpful and recommended the Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Tea and despite the name, it was not too sweet. The service was very good and despite being very busy, I did not have to wait long for my food. The only thing I would bear in mind is this BAO is pretty small and all of the seating is at the counter or stools (chairs without backs). The staff were very kind and due to my disability they gave me a table so I could lean against the wall. I was able to be fairly comfortable during my meal, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Overall, I can definitely recommend this branch of BAO based on the food and service. I do recommend making a reservation, as it can be very busy.
What a wonderful lunch! The service was wonderful and all the staff was friendly and helpful. The kitchen was on top of it. The food was flavorful. Our waiter made great recommendations. Can’t wait to return to London and come back to Bao.
They got the Michelin Bib Gourmand for a reason. The food at BAO was exceptional. I tried their Long Day Menu, which is thoughtfully designed for solo diners. The bao were incredibly soft, and the pork was perfectly juicy. The guinea fowl bowl was full of flavor, and I especially enjoyed the fragrant tea at the end. If you’re in town, it’s definitely worth a visit.
I love BAO, especially for solo dining. The bao buns are all delicious and the udon carbonara in their Shoreditch branch is delicious (but really rich!) As for their dessert, the doughnut was good but a bit oily. The horlicks ice cream bao is much better.
The service was top tier. So attentive and friendly. Furthermore everyone here has a very gentle and positive attitude which I really much enjoyed. I tried their long day menu which was delicious. I think I would have enjoyed some of their other options more but liked the menu as a whole. I am also glad to have gotten this menu since it exposed me to their incredible peanut milk and fried chicken. The sauce on that was incredible too. And let’s end this by saying fantastic bao. The mix off of the sweat and savory was delicious. I will be back.
