The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Proud displays of previous guests are reassuring and interesting to note. The main restaurant is there to please with creativity, hospitality and expertise. Highly recommend the experience the staff and foods will delight you! The room we had was comfortable but felt a bit small with too much furniture taking up space. Bed was very comfortable.
I had an excellent business stay at Claridge’s in London on 01.02.26. From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding—professional, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. The room was beautifully presented, quiet, and extremely comfortable, making it easy to both relax and work productively. The attention to detail throughout the hotel truly reflects its reputation for quality and elegance. The staff were particularly impressive, always courteous and attentive, ensuring everything ran smoothly during my stay. Facilities were excellent, and the overall atmosphere was calm, refined, and perfectly suited for a business trip. A thoroughly enjoyable and seamless experience. I would gladly stay again and highly recommend Claridge’s to anyone visiting London for business or leisure.
I tried the top 3 afternoon tea places in London recently and this was the best one in terms of service and food Robert’s attention to details was excellent- thank you! It’s the first time I manage to finish everything and without being rushed. We even had a few sandwiches to take away in a stylish box and a little chocolate gift too! Chairs were not as comfy as some other places but they are beautiful I will definitely be back
Unfortunately I would not recommend Claridge’s, our experience did not feel luxurious at all. My husband and I booked to go for Christmas lunch last weekend with our wedding planner who had travelled from Norfolk. I had emailed beforehand mentioning I had broken my foot so therefore could come in a wheelchair or crutches. I was assured crutches would be fine however upon arrival I soon realised this was a big mistake- the floor was marble and super slippery (they clearly were aware of this as they had several wet floor placards out). My crutches could not get any grip and I nearly fell twice- luckily my husband was there to help as no one from the hotel did. Moving on to the food- we ordered the festive menu, the starter and dessert were nice however the Turkey main was really poor. I would compare it to a Christmas dinner at a cheap pub- dry Turkey, rubbery stuffing, burnt pigs in blankets, the potatoes weren’t crispy. All three of us were disappointed and left probably half our meal- the staff were so rushed off their feet they did not even ask why we had left so much. Apart from this though the staff were lovely just very busy- there was a queue to get into the foyer and the whole feeling was very hectic. In terms of food it seems the restaurant was serving afternoon tea, cooked breakfasts, a la carte and Christmas dinner all at once so no wonder the quality was seriously lacking. One positive thing to highlight would be the pianist and choir which were a lovely festive touch. Claridge’s emailed the next day asking for feedback and I filled in a very detailed questionnaire- however a week later I have heard nothing back from them which seems very poor from a hotel of their standing. Overall I would choose a different hotel- Raffles at the OWO was far superior.
This review is a little late, our visit took place in October 2025, but the experience stayed with me enough that I felt it was still worth sharing. I visited Claridge’s, specifically the Reading Room for dinner. While the interior is undeniably stunning, I was deeply disappointed by both the service and the quality of the food. We were a group of seven and arrived on time (in fact, slightly early, though we approached the host exactly at our reservation time), only to be told our table was not yet ready. While this alone was not an issue, it unfortunately set the tone for what followed. Before ordering food, a friend and I asked if we could start with cocktails. We hadn’t yet been shown the menu, but said we would like margaritas, naturally assuming the standard, classic version. Instead, without showing us the menu or asking which one we meant, we were served the other margarita they offer; a far more experimental, aggressively sour version. It was shockingly bitter (honestly reminiscent of the candy 'Toxic Waste') and nothing like a classic margarita. I drink a wide range of cocktails, but this was genuinely difficult to finish. I politely asked if it could be sweetened or if I could see the cocktail menu, and had to repeat myself twice before anyone responded. Only then was it explained that we had been served the “alternative” margarita, not the regular one listed on the menu, despite us never being given the choice. At that point, I decided to abandon the margarita altogether and order something else. While waiting for the replacement, my original drink was taken away, yet I was told I could not be poured any wine (even though the rest of the table had begun) because I needed to finish my cocktail first. It was a very strange and uncomfortable moment. For my starter, I ordered the burrata salad. I did enjoy the combination of figs, beetroot, and pumpkin, it was lively and well balanced. The burrata itself was fresh, though somewhat lacking in flavour. For my main, I ordered the cacio e pepe ravioli. When the dish arrived, I was immediately confused. The portion consisted of three very small ravioli, covered in an unexpected orange sauce, with a stringy filling that did not resemble what I had ordered. As someone who is quite particular with food, something felt off, so I barely touched it. When the bill arrived, I was shocked to see I had been charged for “Wild Boar Ravioli.” This dish was not what I ordered, nor was it even listed on the menu. Had I been vegetarian or had dietary restrictions, this would have been a serious issue. I was genuinely taken aback. For me personally, the experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially given the cost. Sadly, I cannot recommend dining here based on this visit.
