TW - assault A few Saturdays ago I attended an event at Phonox. Having been many times before, it's one of my favourite clubs in London. Unfortunately about an hour after I arrived, an idiotic man I didn't know decided to grab my throat unprovoked in an attempt to catch my attention on the dance floor. I pushed him off me and headed over to the front entrance to report it to a member of staff. I actually couldn't have imagined a better outcome from this. I was immediately believed by the female manager on the door, security was called to flank me, and we headed into the crowd to try and find him. Dancers nearby who had seen what happened tried to help with giving a description of him. I then asked to get some air and security reviewed the CCTV while I waited outside with my friends and one guard. After about 15 minutes, they asked me to step inside and identify the man from a safe distance - it was him and they escorted him out and told me he would get a lifetime ban. I have never had anything like this happen before at a rave and I'm nearly 30, but despite it being a shock I was so grateful for the tight process and them seeing it through to make the dance floor safer for everyone. As much as I believe in anti-surveillance, in situations like this the only thing that would have made me feel safer was ID scans upon entry, so the club could have reported the man to the Police. In the moment, I wanted to get on with my night and decided not to pursue it further. THANK YOU to all the staff and security at Phonox.

Just been to a Drum and Bass event at Phonox. This was my first time at the venue. We had such a wicked time here. Security were amazingly friendly and actually helped make our experience and amazing one. Shout out to him. You know who you are 👊. Thank you 🫡 Perfect venue for smaller events. And much more intimate than some of the huge venues I've been at. Will definitely be coming back here. ❤️

Fantastic evening bopping along to Danny Howells and John Digweed. Superb night, shame though that the cloakroom queue took nearly an hour to retrieve our jackets

I don’t usually bother with reviews but it was just so good! Went for Iglooghost and Nikki Nair on the 23rd The venue is great and kept clean, staff are friendly and helpful. Just to note, was allowed to bring a canned drink in but not an opened water bottle. But can get glasses of water for free at the bar downstairs. Also, it costs £2.50 per item for the cloakroom. Perfectly reasonable for the peace of mind + your belongings safety. Other reviews have mentioned long wait time for collecting items from the cloakroom but it went quite quickly, 20mins? Even at closing when most people were leaving. As mentioned on the site, no photos/video allowed.

This is one of those cosy London Clubs. Small enough to be part of a tribe and big enough to have a kick ass sound system. Staff are always friendly and door staff courteous. What ever night your going to this joint will not disappoint. One of London’s best small clubs. Amazing atmosphere lights and sound.
