Quirky pub serving numerous varieties of pie, with 2 pie rooms and a pie club plus real ales.via Google

A gritty, legendary pub that serves as the incubator for London’s modern post-punk and indie-rock scenes.

We look all over London for a traditional pub that offered pies. We found the Windmill Mayfair over google. When we arrived every table was reserved but barkeeper made it possible for us to get a table so we could try the pies. The pies where so good we reserved a table for another dinner in the Windmill Mayfair. And again the pies where delicious. We told the staff when we return to London we will definitely reserve a table again!!! Super service, great atmosphere and a great pub.

First time in London and I knew we had to have a meat pie. This place is renowned for their pies and they held up to their reputation. I got the chicken, bacon and leek pie with mash. It was delicious! Very rich and filling, so come on an empty stomach. The atmosphere is classic and elegant. I love how English pubs look! It’s a very popular place to grab a pint as well. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. The staff were warm and welcoming. Our server Patrick was friendly, funny and hospitable. He made sure our experience was excellent! I highly recommend coming here to anyone wanting a delicious British meal.

We stopped here for a late lunch, and decided to split a pie in order to have room for dessert. We tried the black pudding Scotch egg which was especially good when paired with the sauce. The yolk was cooked perfectly with a creamy center. We opted for the steak & kidney pie, and it was superb! It was the first time in my life I thought that kidneys were tasty. The kidney bits really complemented the richness of the steak and mushrooms. Then we got a sticky-toffee pudding to share, and it was amazing! The cake was warm and not too sweet, which made it a perfect match for the ice cream and sweet caramel pool beneath it. Definitely one of the best desserts I've ever had. The staff are friendly, and it's a really comfortable, clean space. Highly recommend!!

A Truly Authentic British Gem We had an incredible experience enjoying a classic steak and kidney, which was cooked to perfection—hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you’d hope for in a traditional pub. The atmosphere was fantastic, capturing that cozy, welcoming vibe perfectly, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. If you’re looking for excellent food and a great environment, this place is a must-visit!

It was an absolute delight to dine here. We had Smoked Salmon, Sausage Roll and the suprise main star the Scotch Eggs (so good we had to get it twice) for starters. After that we had Shepherds Pie and Steak pie with a very generous veggies serving which were even better than we had anticipated. The Sticky Toffee Pudding and Eton Mess were also very delightful. But i would say, this evening wouldn't have been this wonderful without our serve Patrick. His enthusiastic and positive demeanor lightened up our exhaustion from travelling, and made the entire experience very special. Special Shout-out to Patrick, and of course a huge thank you to the entire waiters and waitresses, and the chefs. We will be back for sure and we look forward to being served by you lads again. Cheers, mates!
