Went with a large group for a celebratory dinner. Food was great (H and I got the 2 person molé sampler platter. It was perfect for 2 people. Could probably feed at 3 people off of it) Service was good, but a little slow. They were super busy, so...kind of to be expected. I just point it out. I also got the Oaxaca Old Fashioned. It was an interesting twist on the classic Old Fashioned made with tequila and mezcal. Super boozy but good. O knocked down the atmosphere a couple of notches because the unexpected live music made it *really* hard to have conversations at the table.

Guelaguetza offers a lively introduction to Oaxacan cuisine in a large, energetic setting. The space is big, the atmosphere is loud and festive, and the live music adds to the experience. Service was quick and efficient, which we appreciated. One of the highlights is the variety of moles. They offer four different styles, giving you a chance to taste a range of traditional flavors from the region. That said, while the food was decent, it didn’t quite rise to the level I was hoping for. The flavors were there, but the overall quality left me wishing for something more authentic and refined. It honestly made me want to go back to Oaxaca itself. Overall, it’s a fun place for the atmosphere and a solid introduction to Oaxacan dishes, but it may not fully satisfy if you’re looking for top-tier quality.

Guelaguetza is something truly special. I ordered the Memela Sampler and the Alambres, and both were incredibly flavorful — you can taste the authenticity and care in every bite. The atmosphere is vibrant and festive, and the live music they have every night just adds so much to the experience. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, so there’s a great vibe either way. Parking is easy too — there’s street parking available and they also offer valet. It’s the kind of place that transports you, and with a Michelin Guide recommendation and a James Beard Award to its name, it absolutely lives up to the reputation. If you’re in LA and haven’t been here yet, ¡tienes que ir! Highly recommend. 🌿🫶🏽

Wife and I had a great experience here. We came for the Mole sampler, but we couldn't stop talking about how great the grasshoppers were. They were perfectly seasoned. The Moles were of course spectacular. Rich and complex, exactly what we were craving on a chilly wet evening. The facilities were outstanding and the service was great. It was a quiet night, but the atmosphere still felt warm and welcoming. I would have felt very comfortable bringing my little ones!

I hadn’t been here in years and when we finally went tonight, I was not disappointed. We got there around 6pm on a Friday night, thinking we might be waiting a while. To my surprise, it wasn’t too full and we were seated within 5 minutes. Our server Janeth was amazing! She was extremely attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time. The food was delicious as always. I usually get the nopales, but this time I got the enchiladas with mole coloradito and my husband got the birria tacos. Food arrived in a timely fashion and the drinks were also great. The atmosphere was lively with the live band playing good music. I only wish I had come with more friends so we could stay longer. I can’t wait to be back and I hope I get the same server.
