I had an amazing experience at the Natural History Museum. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the stunning architecture and the welcoming atmosphere. The exhibits were beautifully curated, informative, and engaging for all ages. The dinosaur section was definitely a highlight—seeing the life-sized skeletons up close was unforgettable. I also loved how interactive many of the displays were, making it easy to learn while having fun. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer questions. Everything was well-organized, clean, and easy to navigate, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Whether you're going with family, friends, or even solo, this museum is a must-see. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, educational, and memorable experience!
What a wonderful time! The museum is big enough that they say you'll need about two hours to see everything but if you like to read and linger, it's gonna take all day. We arrived at 11am and left at closing at 5. Really cool exhibits, we came primarily for the cats and gemstones but loved seeing all the other things. If you like to take your time and enjoy the quiet, hit the museum on a weekday. The cafe outside is tasty and wonderful with courteous staff.
We love this place! My son knows every exhibition like the back of his hand—he loves coming here to spend time learning stuff about his favorite dinos. It’s said to be the largest exhibition of dinos, but I’m not sure that’s right. It’s not that big. Definitely worth the time, though—especially for kids who are obsessed with dinosaurs. The exhibits keep him engaged for hours, and it’s such a fun way to spark curiosity about prehistoric life. Highly recommend for families!
We were in LA visiting Universal Studios and on our last day we had nothing planned. We decided to check out this museum and it was awesome! We went on a Friday. Honestly I love museums and I could have spent the whole day there reading every single bit of information from every single piece on display but we had to catch our plane. They had a cat exhibit that was very informative. The dinosaur hall was also fascinating and informative. It was jaw-dropping to see just how big these animals were. The bird display was neat and cool. It showed thousands of birds from all over the world that are stuffed and you can see how big they actually are. The gem and mineral exhibit was excellent as well as the history of Los Angeles area. It is worth the $18 entrance fee. I would definitely go again. Also, the downstairs cafe has a pretty good grilled chicken sandwich.
I have been coming to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles since I was a little kid. I have gone here with school, church, and family over the years. So being back home for the week, I was adamant about taking my Boyfriend here as he loves museums as much or more than I do. My favorite thing has always been the animal rooms with various taxidermy species from all over the world. Some things have changed over time, but there are so many things that still look the same as when I was a child. The entrance has moved to a different location than it used to be and there have been some updates over the years but it is still amazing every time I am there. We visited while they had the "Unearthed: Raw Beauty" exhibit as well as the "Fierce! The Story of Cats" exhibit. Unearthed, is one of the most incredible exhibits I have ever seen here. It was amazing, breath taking and so beautiful. We unfortunately didn't make it through every last room as we were exhausted from our previous few days of activity. This was an amazing experience and it definitely wont be my last visit here.
