Versailles is one of our favorite Miami restaurants and a true local institution, with an excellent bakery and full-service dining. The bakery is fantastic. Their beef empanadas and meat pastries are fresh, flavorful, and worth the wait. Lines are often long, reflecting their popularity with locals and visitors alike. The restaurant serves authentic Cuban food in a lively atmosphere. While some servers are not always comfortable speaking English, dining in has been smooth overall. We once experienced a mix-up with a takeout order, so pointing directly to menu items can help avoid confusion. Overall, Versailles remains a favorite for its great food, authentic atmosphere, and standout bakery items that keep us coming back.

My colleagues and I came here on a Thursday afternoon, and we thought this place got great vibes and had very affordable prices. The decorations indoors were very glamorous with chandeliers, lots of mirrors, and spacious seating. The menu was so huge that it was guaranteed that there would be something for everyone. We agreed that the next time we meet up, we would choose this place again. In terms of food, the taste wasn't necessarily the best, but it was still pretty good and definitely worth it for the price. The paella had pretty conventional tastes in terms of the rice, as it was clear that there was some tomato sauce flavoring the rice. The rice was a bit sticky, in a sloppy way. The ropa vieja had a good amount of beef which was great, and it was tender enough with good flavor, but I wish black beans were included with the dish. My colleagues ordered the classic dish and the vaca frita, and both looked like they got an abundant amount of food, which was a plus for sure, for very affordable prices. They had good things to say about the dishes overall. The catalonian style meatballs was a Thursday special dish and was also very affordable. Overall, even though this spot doesn't have the most outstanding taste for its food, its food still has pretty good flavor, and this establishment is definitely worth returning to because of its affordability and vibes. People can easily find what they want here and have a good time with their friends.

After about a 45 minute wait for lunch on a Saturday for a party of two, the experience ended up being pretty underwhelming. I had wanted to try this place for a long time, so I was looking forward to it. The Versailles salad was very simple, mostly mixed greens with dressing and some nuts. The calamari came out room temperature and tasted like it may have been sitting out for a while. The roasted chicken au jus was okay, and the yellow rice was average. The plantains were good. The standout dish was the red snapper filet with garlic sauce, which was the best thing we had. Service was decent, but we did not see our server much after ordering. On the positive side, the food came out quickly. Overall, with the long wait and average food, it did not live up to expectations. Unfortunately, I would not go back or recommend it.

Versailles Restaurant in Little Havana truly lives up to its reputation as one of the most famous Cuban restaurants in the world. It is a must-visit if you want to experience authentic Cuban cuisine in a lively and culturally rich setting. The menu is extensive and filled with classic dishes. The Cuban sandwich was a highlight, packed with flavour and perfectly balanced, while the cafecito was strong, bold, and exactly what you would expect from a traditional Cuban coffee. The food is not only delicious but also very reasonably priced, which makes it even more appealing. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of character, with a constant buzz of both locals and tourists. It feels like a place with deep roots in the community rather than just a dining spot. Fans of the film Chef will also recognise it as a key location where Jon Favreau’s character reconnects with Cuban cooking, which adds a fun layer of familiarity to the visit. Service was efficient despite the crowd, and the overall experience felt authentic and unpretentious. If you are in Miami, Versailles is not just a restaurant but a cultural experience that should not be missed.

The food ain't pretty, but it was phenomenal! The Braised Ox Tail was crazy good! Super tender meat, liquefied collagen and an extremely savory rich tomato based sauce with subtle briny olive note. The Picadillo was tasty as well, I just wish the sauce was a little bit thicker and with a bigger punch! Finally, how is it that a simple stewed black bean is so good? It was rich, creamy and savory... there must be pork in it. However, the only sour note to the experience was to the rude waitress, Yole, who gave us an attitude for not getting dessert and coffee at the end of the meal and took the water from our table before we were even ready to leave. Other than that food came out fast and hot (and not by her).
