Lovely botanical building with a variety of plants. It was nice and airy since the doors were kept open and mist was spraying from the walls. It’s free to enter. The pond out front was almost deserted, maybe due to the season. I just wish the names of the plants were displayed next to them, instead there is a QR code to learn about them.

The Balboa Park Botanical Building was one of the prettiest spots we visited in San Diego. The architecture, reflecting pool, and surrounding gardens made it an excellent place for photos and just taking in the scenery. It had such a peaceful atmosphere and felt like one of the most iconic areas in the park. Definitely worth stopping by whether you enjoy photography or just want a relaxing place to walk around.

This display was free to enter, and quite beautiful. It featured a variety of gorgeous flowers, bushes, and other plants, as well as some water features. No reason not to check it out if you're in the area!

A truly wonderful experience. Yes we went on the weekend and yes there were a lot of people. But this didn't impact the experience. It was gorgeous and definitely worth the visit. We are excited to return again soon!

Unique place to see a variety of plants. Great place to visit when its a bit hot outside. Plenty of seating available. There are a few volunteers on-site that explain the history of the building as well as about the plants and trees within.
