Jordan provided excellent service when I had a question in regards to unknown charges to my account. He also professionally accommodated me as a gold member to enjoy late check out (based on availability), so I will definitely recommend him! 👍 Overall, room was clean, spacious and technologically more advanced and better than other Hilton properties. Breakfast was delicious and marketplace also has a variety of snacks, drinks and gelatos for us to choose from. Fit gym is also available for us to use as hotel guests, inside they have sauna, steam room and massage chairs. Pool and Jacuzzi are amazing and less crowded when we visited. I just wished their hours could be extended pass 10pm. However parking can be pain in the butt during weekend.

Perfect place right in downtown San Diego! We were in for a mixed business / personal trip. Easy and quick ride from the airport to the front of the hotel. Superb customer service experience from the front desk to the room staff. Great communication and a personal feel from the moment we walked in. Modern decor and amenities that really stood out. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with comfortable mattresses and soft sheets. Our room was a twin queen bed option and there was plenty of room to settle into and feel comfortable without tripping all over yourselves. Heated pool was perfect to relax and unwind in after soaking in the hot tub. Gym had updated equipment and a functional layout. From entry to exit the hotel was great but the staff really put the extra sparkle on the shine.

Fabulous location a few blocks from great restaurants in Little Italy, the waterfront and trolley stops. All the staff we encountered throughout our stay were lovely suggesting things to do and checking on us. The top floor bar was perfect for nfl with good drinks and plenty of tvs. I only looked around the gym instead of using it…but it is huge and access is covered by the resort fee. I would stay there again when in San Diego.

I would not recommend staying at Carte. There are bed bugs in the hotel, and this is something that is not disclosed to guests. On top of that, the hotel also fails to mention that the new apartment building constructed next door is significantly taller than Carte, so if you are not staying on the city-facing side, your room has little to no natural light and feels like a jail cell. Beyond the guest experience, the way employees are treated is terrible. Management is extremely unprofessional, with sarcastic, fake personalities that feel more focused on bringing in money than actually caring about guests or staff. Problems are constantly “band-aided” instead of being properly fixed, which leads to ongoing issues throughout the property. The bathrooms have visible mold, which is unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. Additionally, the Mercato on-site has had multiple instances of mice running in and out of the front door. I’ve even heard about times where mice were getting into and eating the snacks. Overall, this place prioritizes image and profit over cleanliness, safety, and people. Between the pests, poor living conditions, and awful management, Carte is not worth the money or the risk.

Used to be a great hotel but sadly it’s not anymore. Rooms don’t feel especially clean. Found a bug on the floor in the bathroom that I have no idea where it came from. Room temp stay unpleasantly warm during the stay. Heard loud banging twice during my stay that was not promptly looked into and woke up to a trainer at the gym screaming his morning. Breakfast was fine but the service was awful. $7 for a cup of coffee is diabolical. This rating got 2 stars for the staff. They were mostly wonderful. Just wished the stay was better for $280 for the night.
