A true architectural gem and a must see! It is possible to see the building from the inside as well, including Dr Seuss illustrations collection, and getting to see what a modern student library looks like. It seems like an excellent place to study and work!

I visited Geisel Library to study, and it was such an impressive and iconic place. I can tell that this is where the intellectual prowess of formidable young minds are formed. I can feel their dedication to excellence just by walking in. Both the exterior and interior architecture are remarkable, and the space is quiet, clean, and perfectly organized for studying or research. There’s also a newspaper section with publications like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, which was really interesting. If you’re on campus or simply enjoy unique libraries, this place is definitely worth visiting.

Lovely place to visit just to look at the architecture but also, if you ever enjoyed Dr. Seuss, it's worth looking at this lovely collection that was donated by the artist himself.

📚 Geisel Library – An Architectural and Intellectual Treasure On the campus of UC San Diego On a recent visit to see my son — who’s tidying up his own academic journey at UCSD — I found myself inside one of the most iconic libraries in the world: Geisel Library. And what a treat it turned out to be. It’s not just a library. It’s a visual marvel that seems to rise from the ground like a spaceship designed for the most curious minds. For someone who loves books, spaces, and silence in equal measure — this was bliss. The kind of place where ideas feel like they float in the air. What struck me most wasn’t just the architecture (though it’s impossible to ignore that brutalist–meets–futurist design) — it was the soul of the space. Every corner breathes intellect. Students immersed in thought, collaborative spaces buzzing softly with energy, and shelves upon shelves of knowledge waiting to be discovered. As a parent, it felt comforting — my son gets to study in an environment that nurtures excellence. As a bibliophile, it was nothing short of sacred. 📍 Rating: 5/5 — A must-visit even if you’re not a student. 📝 Pro tip: Sit by the large glass windows and just soak in the vibes. Books optional.

This building that looks like a spaceship is actually a library. There's a park nearby. You can comfortably study here. It's a very Instagrammable spot. You can take photos for your social media and gain new knowledge and meet smart people.
