La Valencia Hotel had a Christmas Tea this past year that I attended with some family members. I loved the ambience of the hotel as soon as I stepped into the main lobby. All the staff were attentive and friendly. The room that the tea was held in had an ocean view and the weather that day was beautiful. The food and drinks were exceptional … and the “wow factor” for me was when the food carriers were brought out and ‘mist’ was slowly billowing from them caused by dry ice! So fun to see and made a special moment in the event. My family is hoping to make this a family tradition every year.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! Location is everything in this beautiful, cozy city of La Jolla CA. It's mainly because parking spaces are very limited and cost a premium. We chose this hotel for its beautiful aesthetic, as well as its walking distance to everything we wanted to check out during our short family vacation trip to the city. We booked the 1 bedroom villa, which came with a nice spacious porch and view of the pool/partial ocean. The bathroom showed its age within the shower tiles and vanities, but still clean and well-kept. The bed and linen were comfortable. There were some basic amenities for coffee/water and a small fridge. A nice dining area and a fireplace made the villa feel comfortable. Room service was fine with usual fair of entrees and late night snacks. The property itself is gorgeous with well manicured gardens and beautiful pool area. Quick shout out to the pool bar staff. They were very attentive, quick, and worked hard to turnover lounge chairs as it was a busy weekend. There were side gates on the property for quick easy access to the nearby park and the infamous La Jolla Cove. Everything within walking distance. We even walked to the local weekly farmer's market, which in itself was a treat with great food and craft shopping. Overall, a beautiful hotel and a wonderful short trip. Will come back again.

This was our second time staying at La Valencia and it was a wonderful stay. Sitting by the pool is very relaxing and the drinks you get poolside are delicious. The food poolside is also good and you can order from the kids menu if you're not too hungry. We had dinner there and their vegan option was well received by my husband. We did have one issue with the room but it was dealt with swiftly. Will definitely stay here again!

This hotel is gorgeous and really shines once you walk in from the street. We had booked an ocean room view in the tower and unfortunately, it was on the side facing some construction. The front desk went above and beyond to move us and we ended up with the most amazing corner room with views from both windows. The pool is beautiful and the staff and concierge are amazing too. Can’t wait to come back.

I admit that I've never stayed at La Valencia hotel, I've only ever gone to the lounge for a drink and some nibbles. BUT... if the quality of service, well mixed cocktails, and tastiness of nibbles is anything to go by then I assume staying overnight in their hotel is pretty good. Every time my wife and I go there we get a table by the big window, a cocktail, some scooby snacks, and just chill out enjoying the view of the ocean and each other's company. Even when it's busy in there it's not loud like most lounges, which is nice. Every time we've been the service is always great, the cocktails are always soooooo tasty, and the food is very good. One of my favorite places to visit when I'm in San Diego.
