Visted again while on weekday getaway to San Diego. Started with Esquite for starter (1 order for 2 ppl) and I nearly licked the bowl. Instead of tacos, we tried the short rib enchiladas and Cali Bowl. The bowl was tasty and light. The short rib enchiladas weren't as tender as expected and the sauce was slightly spicy and tasted mole-inspired. The Pistachio Tres-Leches dessert was the highlight of the meal. Seriously delicious. The churro sundae was as expected but the other dessert much better. Next time, we'll switch out the entrees. Phenomenal friendly and personal service during a busy holiday week.

Let’s start with the good part 🌮✨ My husband and I were SO hungry that we literally walked in from the wrong entrance 😂 But a very attentive waiter kindly guided us to the host stand, which already felt super welcoming. The vibe, the location, and the overall atmosphere were really nice. The staff was friendly, and everything felt clean and well taken care of (including the restroom 👍). Now about the food — the tacos were actually delicious 🤌 We liked them so much that we even ordered the same ones for takeout later. But here’s where things could definitely be improved… It was my first time ever trying Mexican food, and no one really asked about my preferences or explained the menu. I feel like a little guidance would have made a big difference. I ended up ordering a vegetable salad that I didn’t enjoy — maybe with a different dressing it could’ve been much better, but I just didn’t know what to expect. Also… no coffee? ☕️😅 When I asked, I was told there’s only cold brew and that since there’s a Starbucks nearby, it “doesn’t make sense” to have regular coffee. That honestly surprised me a lot. I really think having good quality coffee would be a huge plus (and let’s be honest… not everyone is excited about Starbucks 🙃). Another disappointment was the takeout. The tacos we got at home were noticeably smaller, with much less filling. My husband even said his had way less meat, and mine just didn’t taste as good as in the restaurant. Considering that the check wasn’t small, that was a bit frustrating. Overall, a nice place with great potential — amazing tacos in-house, friendly staff, and a good atmosphere. But a bit more attention to customer guidance, consistency, and small details would make the experience much better🙏 This was actually our second visit, and this time we came for Taco 🌮 Tuesday. I should probably start with a disclaimer: I am not the biggest fan of Mexican food 🥘 in general, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. 😄 That said, I genuinely enjoy coming here. The service is always friendly🌸, the staff are welcoming 🌸, and everything feels relaxed and enjoyable🪷. You can tell people care about what they do, and that makes a difference☀️ I ordered the 🌱 vegan 🥗 tacos 🌮 again, and they were delicious. Some of the other dishes we tried weren’t really my personal favorite, but I honestly think 💭 that’s more about my own taste preferences than the quality of the food 🍱 . If you truly love Mexican cuisine, you’ll probably appreciate the menu much more than I do. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to add coffee ☕️ . As a European, I am still slightly confused whenever I visit a restaurant and discover there is no coffee ☕️ on the menu. 😂 I was also surprised by the limited tea selection. For example, I would have loved an iced tea 🫖 option. That said, these are very small observations rather than complaints. Overall, we had a great experience🌼, the tacos 🌮 were tasty 🤤 , the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were wonderful. Would I come back? Yes. Would I recommend it to people who enjoy Mexican food? Absolutely 👍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had an amazing experience at Puesto! We ordered the Cali Bowl and the filet mignon was absolute perfection—honestly one of my favorite meals from our weekend visiting San Diego. Their Passionfruit Mule was also so refreshing and delicious! We came with our 3- and 4-year-old, and our server was incredibly attentive. They brought out chips and salsa right away and even took our little one’s order while we were still looking over the menu, which made everything so much easier. Fantastic food, great drinks, and truly thoughtful service. Highly recommend! 🍽️✨

Excellent! Came tonight for taco Tuesday- half off all tacos! Some of the best tacos I've ever had! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the filet was over cooked and a bit dry- would have loved it medium rare. Other than that- amazing! The lobster, carnitas, grilled shrimp, tamarindo, quesabirria all excellent! Great sauces too and free chips and salsa! Excellent service. If I come back to SD I'll definitely come back for taco Tuesday!

Was visiting from out of town for a work conference and our hotel was right across the street from this restaurant so figured to try it for a night. This might have been the best meal I had while on the trip. We got tacos, a filet mignon bowl, cucumber salad, and the guacamole flight and all were AMAZING. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable with menu and gave some great recommendations. Outside seating was also very enjoyable by a fire. 10/10 would recommend 🌮
